The ask
As the brand's catalogue on Amazon grew, a general-purpose retouching process wasn't holding the line on their visual standard. Amazon needed something built specifically for this one brand: a dedicated Standard Operating Procedure and a team trained exclusively on it. The launch made that concrete fast: 9,000 images requested within two weeks, against a standing capacity of 6,000 for that same window. A new process had to be built, proven, and already absorbing 50% more volume than normal from its first batch.
The approach
We built the process from the brand's own guidelines outward, and didn't launch it until the client had signed off. The SOP was designed around the brand's specific visual standards rather than retrofitted from a generic retouching checklist. Before it went live, the process was validated through sample production: real images run through the new SOP, reviewed against client feedback, and revised until approved. Only then was a specialized team trained on the finished process and put into production. Production planning, optimized resource allocation, and continuous quality monitoring closed the 3,000-image gap between 6,000 and 9,000 without it showing up as rework later.
Why it matters
A generic retouching pipeline can hit volume or hit a brand standard. Building a dedicated one is what lets you hit both from the first batch. The service launched 50% over its standing two-week capacity and still held 100% quality and full SLA compliance throughout, with positive feedback from both Amazon and the brand's own stakeholders on the improved product presentation.
